Mountain States - December Meeting Minutes Conference Call Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Board Member participants were: Joe Smith, Darlene Chase, Stephanie Vaagen, Helen Clark, Cliff Kellmer, Bobby and Sandy Johnson, Kelly Adams, Colleen Kilpatrick, and Jerry Failing. Jerry Failing representing the Walla Walla circuit requested a read-out of some sort; to determine how many Mountain State members participated at their annual show last year. President, Joe Smith, is looking this into. Point keeper and point keeping methods were discussed, as there were several major issues this last season. The following will be required from Show Secretaries that are officiating Mountain State approved shows: 1) Copies of Judges cards with a roster will be required to be sent directly to the MSQHA Points keeper no later than 10 days after the last day of the show. 2) The $1.00 per entry for each MSQHA approved show must be sent directly to the MSQHA treasurer no later than 10 days after the last day of the show. 3) MSQHA members and horse nominations will still be accepted through the Show Secretaries at each MSQHA approved show, with those points from that show being counted no matter what day they submitted their application and fee. Devising a form that will create a membership card is being looked into. 4) It was voted that the Points keeper would also be the Membership Secretary. She/He will receive the membership forms as well as the membership money, depositing in MSQHA bank in the Point keeper’s closest town. Points keeper will then forward the money information on to the Treasurer. 5) No retroactive memberships will be accepted. No second party memberships will be accepted. Cash for memberships is discouraged since it down not provides a paper trail. 6) It was voted to keep the membership and horse nomination cost the same for 2007. It was voted to retain Miriam Grant as your Points keeper for the 2007 season. It was voted to drop the “Horse Sheet” program. It has not been serving the purpose for which it was originally intended. It was voted to use that money instead for Reserve Year End Awards starting in 2007. Treasurer, Helen Clark, reported a balance of $14,803.20 in the bank to date. Tory Adams is donating the year-end Reserve All-Around Awards for 2006. His company, Renegade, will be creating “Bridle Hooks” for those luck winners. Thank you Troy! It was voted to not give extra points for Grand or Reserve Halter as it creates unequal playing field for the All-Around. Joe encouraged everyone to bring Silent Auction items for the Banquet on January 6, at the TRAC! MSQHA Moses Lake Show Meeting 09/15/06 Minutes yet to be released.
